Your privacy matters. Chicken Coop: Egg & Flock Log (the “App”) is built to be private by design. This policy explains what the App does and does not do with your information.
The short version
We do not collect, sell, share, or transmit your personal data. Everything you enter — flocks, birds, egg logs, photos, health/feed records, expenses, and reminders — is stored only on your device. We have no servers that receive your data and no account is required.
Information we collect
None is collected by us. The App has no login, no user accounts, and no analytics, advertising, or tracking software. We do not have access to anything you store in the App.
Data you create and where it lives
- Your records (flocks, birds, egg logs, care/feed records, expenses, reminders) are saved locally on your device using Apple’s on-device storage.
- Photos you add to a bird are chosen by you through Apple’s system photo picker and are stored only inside the App on your device. They are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
- Reminders are scheduled as local notifications on your device only.
- Backups/exports (JSON or CSV) are created only when you choose to export, and they are shared only to the destination you pick (for example Files, email, or your own cloud storage).
Purchases (subscriptions)
The App offers an auto-renewable subscription, Chicken Coop Pro. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple may share with the App only the information needed to unlock your subscription (for example, whether a valid subscription is active). Apple’s handling of your purchase is covered by Apple’s own privacy policy.
Permissions
- Notifications (optional): used only to remind you about coop-maintenance tasks you create. You can turn these on or off at any time.
- Photos: the App uses Apple’s photo picker, so it can access only the specific photo(s) you choose for a bird — it does not read your photo library.
Sharing & selling
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your information with any third party, because we do not collect it.
Data retention & deletion
You are in full control of your data. You can delete any record inside the App, and deleting the App from your device permanently removes all data it stored. You can also export a backup before deleting.
Children’s privacy
The App is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children under 13. Because we collect no personal information, we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Security
Because your data stays on your device, it is protected by your device’s own security (passcode, Face ID/Touch ID, and iOS data protection).
Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights over personal data. Since the App does not collect or process your personal data on any server, there is no personal data held by us to access, correct, or delete. Any data the App holds is on your device and under your control.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the “Effective date” above.
