Dot to Dot for Kids: Connect
Made for kids • Zero data collectedThank you for trusting Dot to Dot for Kids: Connect with your child. This app was built for young children (ages 5 & under) under Apple's Kids Category rules, and protecting your family's privacy is our top priority. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly how the app handles information.
The app works fully offline, contains no ads, no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, and requires no account or login of any kind.
1. No data collection — at all
This app is intentionally designed to collect nothing. Specifically, the app does not:
- Collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data or personal information.
- Use any analytics, measurement, or usage-tracking tools.
- Use any advertising, ad networks, or behavioral advertising.
- Include any third-party SDKs, trackers, or marketing tools.
- Require an account, sign-in, email address, name, or any registration.
- Ask for or access the camera, microphone, photos, contacts, or location.
- Send any information to us or to any third party automatically.
Because the app runs entirely on your device and never connects to the internet to function, there is simply no information for anyone to gather.
2. Everything stays on your device
All puzzle progress and your child's colored pictures are saved only on the device, on-device, and are never uploaded anywhere. This includes which puzzles have been completed, the selected difficulty level, and the artwork your child creates.
If you delete the app, this on-device information is removed by the operating system in the normal way.
3. The only sharing is parent-initiated
The app has a single Save/Share action for a finished colored picture, and it is protected by a parental gate ("ask a grown-up"). The app never shares or sends anything on its own.
Sharing only happens when a grown-up manually passes the parental gate and then chooses to save or share through the standard iOS system share sheet. At that point the grown-up decides where the picture goes (for example, saving to Photos or sending it to someone they choose). The app itself transmits nothing automatically and has no access to where you ultimately send the image.
4. Children's privacy (COPPA & Apple Kids Category)
This app is made for children and is designed to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU GDPR protections for children (GDPR-K), and Apple's Kids Category requirements.
- We do not collect any data of any kind from children (or from anyone).
- There is no behavioral advertising and no third-party advertising.
- There are no third-party analytics or tracking technologies.
- There are no external links, social features, or open web browsing inside the play area.
- The only action that can leave the app (Save/Share) is locked behind a parental gate.
We never knowingly collect personal information from children because the app does not collect personal information from anyone.
5. Apple required-reason APIs
Apple asks developers to declare why certain device APIs are used. In this app, these APIs are used only to make the app function for your child, and never for tracking:
- User Defaults (settings storage): used to remember on-device progress and preferences, such as which puzzles are finished and the chosen difficulty level.
- File timestamps: used when saving a colored picture so the artwork file can be written and managed correctly on the device.
- Disk-space checks: used to confirm there is enough room on the device before saving a picture, so saving doesn't fail unexpectedly.
None of these APIs are used for tracking, advertising, profiling, or sharing data with third parties.
6. Data security
Since the app collects no data and sends nothing over the internet, there is no data transmission to intercept. The information the app saves (progress and artwork) lives on your device and is protected by your device's own operating-system security and your device passcode.
7. Data retention
We have no data-retention practices because we do not collect any data. Nothing is stored on our servers — we operate no servers that receive your information. On-device progress and artwork remain on the device until you remove them or delete the app.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, we will post the updated version at this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Because the app's privacy-friendly, no-data design is core to the product, we expect any changes to be minor.
