Getting started
Open the app, complete the short onboarding (set your test date, study goal, and an optional daily reminder), and take the free 20-question sample to see the content. No account or sign-up is required.
What's free and what's paid?
You can take one free 20-question sample quiz with no payment. Unlocking the full 3,000+ question bank, the full-length timed mock exams, and all study modes requires a membership (below).
Membership & pricing
- Monthly — $9.99 per month
- Yearly — $49.99 per year (3-day free trial for eligible users)
- Lifetime — $99.99 one-time purchase (not a subscription)
Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation. Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the period ends.
How do I restore my purchase?
Tap Restore Purchases on the paywall, or go to Settings › Membership › Restore Purchases inside the app. Use the same Apple ID you purchased with.
How do I cancel or manage my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple: open the iOS Settings app › tap your name › Subscriptions › select Instrument Rating Prep › Cancel. You keep access until the end of the current period. (Lifetime is a one-time purchase and has nothing to cancel.)
Does it work offline?
Yes. The entire question bank ships inside the app, so every study mode works with no internet connection.
Daily reminders
Turn the daily study reminder on/off and set the time in Settings › Reminders. Reminders are scheduled on your device only.
Reset my progress
Use Settings › Reset Progress (clears mastery/streaks/history) or Delete My Data (removes everything and resets the app).
Accessibility
The app supports Dynamic Type (large text), VoiceOver, and a read-aloud option for questions.
Is this app affiliated with the FAA?
No. Instrument Rating Prep is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the FAA or PSI. All questions are original works based on the public FAA Airman Certification Standards, 14 CFR, the AIM, and FAA handbooks. It is a study aid, not flight instruction — always confirm current requirements with your authorized instructor.
